Beach Ambassadors’ main fund raising event each year is “Battle of the Beers”, a unique event that pits local, Hampton Roads-based breweries against each other to determine who has the best beer in Hampton Roads – all for charity. Each year, local breweries put their best brews on tap and are rated by an official beer tasting panel and by attendees of the event to see which beer is the best in the 7-5-7.
Started in 2013, Battle of the Beers has grown every year both in number of event patrons and the amount raised for a local Hampton Roads charity. In 2014, over 700 patrons attended the event, raising over $10,000 for local charities ($7,500 went to St. Mary’s Home, and $2,500 went to charities of the winning brewer’s choice). In 2015, Beach Ambassadors’ Battle of the Beers event won VEER Magazine’s award for “Best Beer Event category. See details from each annual Battle of the Beers event at the links below.
